The HR Recruiter Nafia emailed me about 6 weeks after applying asking me to interview directly with the hiring manager imminentl , with an optional quick check in with her. I opted for the check-in with her and she seemed great and was able to arrange an interview with the Hiring Manager at a time that was suitable for me as I was currently on vacation in another country. However, the information she shared to help prep me for the call was contradictory or unhelpful to the actual interview. She said to come prepared with Marketing examples however, the interview with the Hiring Manager Tijs was much more business development focused. It threw me off but I managed as best I could in the interview. I thought it went well, I even followed up straight away reiterating my thoughts on the role and thanking them for their time. Unfortunately I never heard anything from HR or the Hiring Manager again. Super disappointing considering this was a company I was very interested in working for and I had taken time out of my vacation to prepare. The least they could do was send me a generic rejection email. They informed me they want to scale up in Europe however, this is how they treat their candidates. Recruitment is an extension of Trip.Coms brand and the above experience I am sure is not unique to me and is quite damaging for their reputation. Amsterdam is small after all!
