For the first technical interview, I was given a lengthy interview prep document covering the kinds of things they cover, and I used it to prepare extensively. The actual interview coding problem was absolutely nothing like the prep doc, requiring deep familiarity with specific packages that aren't all that common, but there was an explicit expectation that the exercise be completed successfully within the time limit. The misdirection in the prep doc felt like a bait and switch. This is a rotten interview practice.
