The HR coordinator emailed me to schedule an interview. We agreed on a date and time, so I showed up in professional dress to talk with her. I didn't realize that she meant to schedule an initial phone interview, but she did the in-person interview with me anyways. She briefly told me about the company and the position they were looking to fill. She asked me the somewhat typical interview questions mixed with a few more unusual ones. She was very personable and seemed enthusiastic about me being the right fit. We scheduled another interview to meet the chef a few days later. I had my second interview with the HR coordinator, the chef, and sous chef. They asked me more about my previous kitchen experiences and what I was looking for in a new position. We then scheduled a stage in the kitchen.
I did my stage working in the kitchen for about 3 hours, during which I made staff lunch and got to talk with some of the other guys in the kitchen. I was told they'd get back to me within the next few days. I received an official job offer over the phone and have been working there ever since.
