      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 4 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Uber (New York, NY) nel mese di nov 2016

      Colloquio

Applied online originally for a strategy/planning business analyst position. Contacted by a recruiter and went through the normal 30 min phone screen, and was given the famed analytics excel test. There is plenty of material out there to prepare for this -- my advice is to spend equal time brushing up on excel (pivot tables) as well as the theoretical side of the ride sharing economy. Strangely, my score was not high enough for strategy/analyst roles (<80), but enough to be redirected to an Operations & Logistics position (UberEats) that I had not initially applied for. Went through another phone screen with a recruiter for that position -- same routine of questions: why uber, why this role, etc. Scheduled a 30 min video conference with a current UberEats operations & logistics manager a few weeks later. My experience overall in the interview process was positive until this point. I became open to the idea of this role and excited to talk/learn more about it. However, the manager arrived late and was extremely short and direct with questioning. It was clear to me this interview was an inconvenience in the interviewer's busy work schedule. I can imagine they recruit and interview for this position a lot as they are growing at a rapid pace and as such the conversation was cold/robotic. Questioning went directly into theoretical type scenarios to see whether I knew what I needed to know. Overall I felt it was difficult to establish a rapport and learned little about the position, culture, etc. Needless to say I was not selected to move on in the process. Maybe for the better.
