I first applied June 11, got invited to take the video interview on June 12. The video interview was nerve wrecking for me because it was so impersonal but I practiced a lot, got some questions like Why are you a good fit for United, Tell me something about yourself that is not on your resume that's the only two I remember. At the end I thought I did ok but you never really know. Some days passed and June 18th I got invited to what they called a Group Information Session. I was super excited and stalked this site for as much information as possible. Yesterday was my group interview. We all met at Newark International airport. All the candidates were really nice and friendly. It never once felt like we were all competing for the same job. Three senior flight attendants came and got us, split us up into two groups, then we went to their offices, they took our resumes and gave us name tags then we went to a small room. There we watched a short video then a senior flight attendant spoke and told us more about the company and training and being on reserve. Then there was the question and answer session and during that, recruiters came and took people one by one. The remaining candidates stayed and talk while waiting to be called. When they called my name I got one of the guys who checked us in who I thought was super nice and he was. He made me feel really comfortable, it felt more like a conversation than an interview. Actually all the recruiters and extra staff that was working with us were all really nice and friendly. After the first interview, he told me I did good and would like me to meet the manager, I got super excited because I knew this was a good thing. He took me to another room that had 2 other candidates and one by one, someone came and took us out of the room while more candidates came. The wait there was long, we waited for about an hour or more but it passed quickly because we all spoke and got to know each other more. When they called me up, I got to meet two managers, they asked me about myself then asked me some questions. They were basically trying to see if I was really prepared for all that being a flight attendant entails, the good and the bad and if I was committed to it. When they were finished they left the room but came back shortly and and invited me to training. Be yourself, let your personality shine and answer the questions honestly. Do as much research as possible because being prepared certainly helps. All the candidates that got through the first round and got invited to train all did a lot of research and practice questions.
