I received an email from the HR inviting me to an interview. I was asked basic questions about my background and why I was interested in that position. She then told me about the company and what they are looking for. She told me that most of the interns would be working on front end development, while there was only one position that focuses on backend development for robotic applications. I told her that I was more interested in the robotics side, and would love to be considered for that. I was asked to share my technical competencies and salary expectations, which I did. She seemed interested and told me that I would be contacted by the team lead for another interview but I was literally ghosted. I sent her a following email almost a week after and I did not receive a response too. Later, that job posting has been removed from linkedin. I honestly have no idea how the company functions internally, but this is very unprofessional. Candidates put in a lot of effort and expectations when applying for jobs and the least you could do is get back to them with a simple "yes" or "no".
