I initially had a quick call with a recruiter and they then set up a 30 minute telephone interview with 2 members of the UX team. The follow-up communication was poor and unprofessional post the interview - they kept me waiting - I would have assumed that they weren't interested, except - they sent emails indicating continued interest and asked for documents, said they would have a status update within a set number of days but didn't until I followed up, finally rejected me with no feedback.

They asked me to describe a website/application that I thought was well designed and why. They also asked me to point out flaws in the same.
Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite segnalazione di un dipendente. La procedura ha richiesto 3 mesi. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Viasat (Carlsbad, CA) nel mese di apr 2019
Colloquio
TL;DR
Hiring process is mind-numbingly slow. Top design talent may be disappointed in the level of discourse about design.
-------
A typical interview process for design roles at comparably-sized companies takes 2-3 months with two video calls and a full-day interview with structured presentation and/or design sim.
My hiring process took 9 months, during which there were several logistical/form emails, a couple of hour-long phone calls (no video calls), and a 90 minute in-person interview with no clear structure.
Was offered little insight into the problems we'd be working on if I were in the role. The 90 minute in-person interview was rife with tech fails, and showed a lack of structure and thoughtful preparation on their part. They offered no input on what to expect or how I might prepare for the session.
As the every touchpoint, they spoke about an institutionalized resistance to design by engineers -- and seemed somewhat resigned to it. I didn't hear about a vision for building a world-class design team or culture.
Probably an interesting opportunity for the right person, who views the role as a career stepping stone. Definitely lots of opportunity to help the team to approach problems in new ways and engage engineers in formats they enjoy.

How do you engage engineers and get them to participate with you in collaborative design? (Asked this about 10 different ways)
