A waste of my time. Interviewing with this company was a big mistake. I had several rounds of interviews with the owner, and was told each time that I was a top candidate. Prior to the fourth interview, I was informed that the next step would be to meet other members of the team and discuss salary and benefits. Little did I know that this was untrue. The day before this interview, I was emailed a list of "challenges" to complete. These "challenges" were completely out of the scope of the interview (please see below for examples). Despite the fact that I did not feel it was appropriate to be asked to complete these time consuming tasks, especially with such little notice, I did so regardless. The final interview was another 1:1 call with the CEO, there were not any other team members present. He reviewed my work, and I asked for feedback. He did not know the answers to several of the "challenge questions" that he asked me, which was very frustrating as I had spent a considerable amount of time completing the tasks. He also appeared irritated when I brought up next steps, which I was originally told was the main agenda of the final interview. Instead, he requested I create AN ADDITIONAL social media ad for the company. I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt (naive of me), and sent him the ad, along with a note requesting to schedule a meeting to discuss my work and next steps. I never received a reply acknowledging my work, much less a thank you. In the meantime, the same LinkedIn ad was posted multiple times. I believe this company is using marketers by organizing interviews and asking for free marketing advice and ads. Very deceptive and manipulative.
