Condescending, disorganized, and disrespectful of Type 1 Diabetics. I was led on for three full months. First I had to do a high school level "dataset assignment" that was stupid busy work, took less than an hour, and was never mentioned again. . After two rounds of phone interviews (Lindsay and the hiring manager) within the same week, I was told that the position DIDN'T EXIST ANYMORE, that they had given it to an applicant from the previous pool of candidates for this position, but that I would be scheduled within a week for final in-person interviews. They said out of courtesy for my time, they would have me come in to evaluate me and then place me on a waiting list until the next opening for this role existed. A month went by, Lindsay didn't reply to an email asking for an update. Six more weeks went by. After 2.5 months, I was asked to come in for in-person interviews because an opening finally existed. Although annoyed at the ghosting and lack of explanation for going MIA other than stupid politics, I was directly told that I, verbatim, was at the top of their list for this position. I don't know why I believed anything they said. I was asked to come in for a "casual conversation about the position" before in-person interviews, that was then rescinded, and I went to in-person interviews to meet with 4 different employees. One of them didn't even show up... One of them (and Lindsay) asked me if I, a type 1 diabetic, had ever tried a low carb diet. This is the absolute most uneducated, stupid, and disrespectful thing to say to a Type 1 diabetic. Not eating carbs doesn't fix type 1, it encourages disordered eating and intrusive thoughts about food, and any type 1 on a keto diet is not fully in ketosis because we consume glucose for low blood sugars. Honestly this was straight up disgusting and I wish I left then. The hiring manager who had originally "loved" me left to go to another company, which I found out when I met the new hiring manager for 20 minutes. He was clearly intimidated by someone older than him who knew way more about diabetes, and was overqualified based on the qualifications on the posting. His ego showed. He couldn't answer half my questions. He walked me out, promising at least 5 times on the way to the lobby to email me with answers to my questions. I never heard from him. Within a few days I got a super generic rejection email from Lindsay.
