      Colloquio

This company isn't related to the company making the app that serves as a walkie-talkie module on your smartphone by the same name. This company's product is an app called BlueMail which they sell to shadow actors. Let your imagination wonder there. They market themselves as a 'family enterprise' that has an 'incredibly successful app with millions of users'. Yea okay. You come into a basement on Maze St. You fill in some Google docs spreadsheets and do a language test to verify you're a native speaker of English. If you aren't then forget about it. Also, they ask you whether you smoke in one of the docs you fill. Apparently if you smoke they won't hire you [revealed by a trusted source]. A harried American man in cargo pant emerges from nowhere and start asking you QA questions that he found on Google. How would you test a vending machine. How would you diagnose an issue where a Whatsapp message went to the wrong recipient. He acts very serious and gives you the impression of this being a serious company. Then they drag in some R&D person who clearly doesn't want to be there and he halfheartedly asks you some questions unrelated to anything, something along the lines of 'are you a good person'. Then after 2 hours of this man explains to you that the role is tech support-QA and 'a bit of devops [meaning occasionally spinning up EC2s in AWS]. You depart. They call you back for an interview with the CEO. The CEO is a well scrubbed older man slightly reminiscent of as pedobear. He tells you without you having asked anything of the sort that he invented some very key pieces of technology found in the modern smartphones. He discusses the particulars of the role with you and the date you can start. He writes down your salary requirement and start date on a piece of scrap paper he has sitting on his desk. You depart. They get back to you 1 month later with an email that says "the position's been filled". I am guessing they found someone whom they can pay with bamba.
