Whatever I wrote in the box was spun like "you know a hiring manager could take that badly". Um, yeah, ANY weakness you ask people to list could be taken badly. Why are you asking them then? Weaknesses shouldn't even be taken seriously because everyone bullshits that question. All you have to do is hire someone who is best qualified and who you vibe with and then work on the "weaknesses" as areas of improvement, not as damning personal characteristics.
