I was approached by the company to interview for a mid-level civil engineering remote position. The first interview was just with HR and a few weeks later with HR and the hiring manager. My first interview indicated that I would be hired as an engineer then be mentored to a PM position. I felt both interviews went well, so it was rather surprising when they requested my transcripts after the 2nd interview. This was for a mid-level job with plenty of relevant background experience and graduating from a top 5 Civil Engineering university. I complied, but felt really disappointed that I did since it was an unreasonable request and I should have pushed back on that. Overall, I would not accept an offer from them after this.
