Was contacted by phone after I responded to a newspaper ad. I was traveling in another city than the hiring location, so a phone interview was conducted. Was asked a week later to attend an interview by a 5-person panel, where I was able to ask my own deeply probing questions. The candid answers I got helped me form a positive impression of the company.

I was first interviewed by phone by the Calgary-based hiring manager (I was in Vancouver on family holiday). I was shortlisted, and was asked to come in for an in-person panel interview in Calgary with 4 interviewers including HR, the hiring manager, a potential colleague, and another departmental manager. I asked, and got permission, to do a short presentation as part of the interview process.
