I recently engaged with xgrid through a hiring event held in Karachi, which was promoted as part of their expansion initiatives. The preliminary phase included a technical assessment, leading to several rounds of interviews that were intended to culminate in a job offer. However, the process was marred by an excessive length and a notable lack of communication.
Upon completion of the technical test, I was informed after a month that I had progressed to the interview stages. Subsequent interviews were scheduled with considerable gaps in between, averaging approximately two weeks per interval. In one instance a delay happened from my side as well because of a health issue, This arrangement necessitated frequent inquiries on my part to ascertain the status of my application.
The initial interviews were consistent with the expectations for a junior-level position. Nevertheless, the duration of the entire process, which stretched to three months, raised serious questions about the efficiency and professionalism
Following the concluding interview, there ensued a period of three weeks without any correspondence. My repeated attempts to obtain feedback were met with general statements such as "we are working on it" and "we have some internal issues." Ultimately, when I pressed for a definitive response, I was informed that the company was "currently not hiring" and was instead compiling a pool of potential candidates for future recruitment. This revelation was particularly disheartening, as it implied that the extensive procedure was primarily a public relations exercise rather than a genuine effort to fill vacancies.
This experience has significantly diminished my view of the company particularly in terms of their professionalism and integrity in the hiring process. The practice of engaging candidates for such an extended duration without a clear intention to hire appears unprofessional and counterproductive. Moreover, the performance of the HR department during this ordeal was unsatisfactory, characterized by a failure to provide timely and transparent communication.
In summary, my interaction during the hiring process was profoundly dissatisfactory. The prolonged uncertainty, combined with the lack of clear communication and the realization that the process was not aimed at immediate hiring, has adversely affected my perception of the organization. I strongly caution prospective candidates to approach applications to xgrid with caution and to seek clearer information regarding the hiring timeline and process.
