System Design Interview The system design interview significantly deviated from industry norms, both in duration and content. Despite expecting a standard discussion, I was surprised by the presence of four engineers and an extended session lasting over two hours. Unconventionally, the interview demanded code writing for system design aspects, a request not commonly encountered in my extensive experience with such interviews. Conclusion and Advice Following a lengthy period of no communication and a final automated rejection, my experience with Yassir's interview process was notably disappointing. The approach to candidate evaluation and the overall organization of the process reflected a disregard for candidates' time and effort. Professional Recommendation For those prioritizing efficient use of time and seeking a respectful interview experience, it may be advisable to consider other opportunities. The mismatch between the company's evaluation methods and industry standards, especially regarding senior-level positions, suggests a potential misalignment with professional expectations and practices.
