This company reaches out to marketing/communication professionals on LinkedIn (her name is Katie, but maybe they hired another recruiter since then). They’ll have you sit through an interview, only to find that it was pointless. For background, there was an interview process I went through back in June/July, and the recruiter informed me that I was a perfect fit, even though I never met their internal team. It’s now December and the role is still available, even though I was a perfect candidate for the role. I genuinely think that they just interview for tax purposes, and they actually don’t need candidates for that department. Honestly, after this experience, I’ve been very hesitant to interview with these types of startups. A waste of time and energy given I’ve been unemployed and looking for work for a while now.
