There was a laughably easy coding test, but they fail most people for unknown reasons. Clearly they're fishing for other information and trying to select candidates based on some other criteria. Really awkward experience.

I was actually contacted by a recruiter about a position in BitFlyer. Initially it was said just to be a Software engineer position, but as it was a crypto currency company the work would include blockchain concepts.
But at the interview, (actually I didn't get to the interview, just a technical test), the test was all about blockchain. Even if you were the best software engineer in the technology you were applying for, it was impossible to get anything done without knowing Blockchain concepts very well.

They have been giving the same old coding test (0/1 knapsack) for years, which I believe makes no sense at all. Then a technical interview by a 2-member panel about the basics. This was followed by a HR interview. They rushed through the interview process since I told them I wanted a conclusion soon. The next round was a mere formality since the interviewer hardly asked any detailed questions. It was pretty clear they did not wish to proceed. It would have been more respectful to just cancel the interview.
Well, I had a hunch since all 5 reviews before me said the same thing ;)
