explain the Network stack differences between original Bluetooth and BLE

I stated BLE is more low powered, using an advertisement and scan strategy doing data communication using Profiles, services, and characterists. The interviewer then laughed and said thats not what he was looking for.

he is looking for BLE is used just as it sounds. Bluetooth Low Energy. Can run a long time on a small battery. Data exchange is quick and short and not often. Introduced as Bluetooth 4.0 years ago.
