Vantaggi
The office culture is very relaxed and employees are very involved in the decision making process. They have all the normal benefits.
Svantaggi
The hiring process is full of secrets and carefully presented truths. Management made it sound like they were working with amazing technology and getting certified with that technology would pave the way for high-dollar consulting salaries if you wanted to leave the company. They, of course, were going to do everything they could to get you to stay. The technology they were referring to is a nightmare to work with and a huge pain to get certified in. Overall, they painted a very different picture than what was actually happening once you get on board. The every day work highly depended on which team lead you get. Some are very open and invite the whole team into the planning process and some block the team out almost entirely. The work was either well explained in terms of context and goal or so cut and dry it was impossible to handle when things went wrong. The firing and lay-offs were creepy to endure and made the environment very uncomfortable. People would suddenly go missing with little to no acknowledgement and you’d only find out a month later that they got fired. If there were problems, there seemed to be little remediation before employees were shown the door. People who did get fired/laid off left within the same day and no good-byes were allowed.
