There is little room for advancement in this family owned company. The owner claims to be the first self made, African American woman to become a billionaire, or maybe it was millionaire, but being that she took over the reigns of a business her Caucasian husband had already made into an empire, this isn’t quite true. Oprah might take issue with it as well. This sets the tone for the type of culture you can expect working for the Act One Group of companies, the parent company to A-Check. There are lots of silos, bullies protected and emboldened by tenure, and plenty of posturing to deal with at this startup with insurmountable growing pains.
