Entry-level training is thorough, guided by Standard Operating Procedures. Initial role progression can be fast with opportunities available across all departments and exposure to a lot of scientific methods. Majority of colleagues were very friendly and happy to help out in a pinch. Exposure to scientific environment is valuable to graduates (but plateaus within a year), and can be the first step in your career.

Salary isn't competitive, employee investment into personal development and taking initiative within the company isn't recognised and ultimately leads to turnover of ambitious employees. Employees are made to "wear too many hats", due to too few employees to cover surges in demand. Daily deadlines and overbearing KPI monitoring will likely leave you despondent, management are critical of employees for factors outside of their control (e.g. instrument downtime) despite necessary steps and communication conducted. Systems for reporting sample results are outdated, buggy and do not always function as expected, causing unnecessary conflict between stakeholders and competing deadlines.
