I accepted a job at AMC Theatre support in January. I moved from out of state and broke my lease and spent thousands moving to KC. I was super excited to be working in the movie industry and worked hard for them. I wasn't perfect I admit but I did try my best regardless. Someone without movie experience is at a disadvantage but I used that as a chip on my shoulder to learn all I can. It didn't matter though. None of it did. Nine months later I was laid off with no explanation. Now I've been abandoned in a city where I know basically no one. Away from family and any support and now I'm dead broke and starving. This was probably the biggest mistake I've ever made in my professional life putting my trust into AMC to give me a decent career. I would stay away they put me in a financial burden that I don't see anyway out of anytime soon. All because I put my trust in them.
