Svantaggi
I worked several years and, unfortunately, the experience was far from positive. There was a noticeable lack of stability, as the leadership on the team changed almost yearly. This constant rotation created confusion, inconsistency in direction, and limited any chance for long-term professional growth. Opportunities for career development were almost non-existent. A clear sense of group-ism and favoritism pervaded the team culture, making it feel more like an exclusive club than a professional environment. Certain individuals, especially those with little theatre management experience, were fast-tracked into positions of higher responsibility, while others were sidelined without clear reasoning. The leadership’s approach to ideas and creativity was another major issue. The department embraced a rigid, top-down management style where input from the team was neither welcomed nor encouraged. If you’re someone who values innovation, creative problem-solving, or a collaborative environment, this is likely not the place for you. The expectation was to keep your head down and follow directives without question. Additionally, the hiring practices left much to be desired. Rather than valuing relevant experience and qualifications, there seemed to be a preference for individuals with Theatre running backgrounds, often giving them larger responsibilities without the required expertise. Overall, the environment felt stifling, with little room for growth, innovation, or professional fulfillment. I would advise future candidates to carefully consider who they report to and whether they align with this team’s working culture before committing to a role here.
