I liked some of my co-workers.

Managers are ill equipped to have that job title. Supervisors are condescending. Have to ask to use the restroom always. Experienced several cases of wages being underreported. I was scared to call out on days me or my children were truly sick because of the toxic atmosphere that was created there.

Thanks for the feedback and review. I’m glad to hear that you liked some of our employees, but it is disappointing that you did not have a good working relationship with other members of our staff. We appreciate your input but maintain that our managers and supervisors are very equipped to perform their job duties. These positions are held by employees with proven expertise and skills who have been with our company for a number of years. We have every confidence in their ability to lead our Operations team. I can understand why it may have been frustrating to notify a supervisor before going to the bathroom. However, in the past this was necessary to maintain consistent staff levels and to ensure that everyone doesn’t go at the same time. We now have a system in place so that our staff no longer has to ask anyone to use the bathroom. No ASD employee has had to ask to use a bathroom since 2013 when this new system was developed and activated. The statement made about not reporting wages is entirely false. ASD carefully follows all federal, state and local wage and employment laws. Each employee’s Time Card is easily accessed for accuracy and verification. The time card for each employee is also automatically displayed whenever they finish working a shift. Due to the sensitive nature of the funeral business, ensuring we are fully staffed at all times is a crucial concern for our company. For this reason, a dependable, team-player attitude is greatly encouraged at ASD, which is why we make all new hires aware of ASD’s attendance policy before joining our company. In addition, many bonuses are offered to employees to promote good attendance and discourage unscheduled absences and lateness. We don’t believe our attendance policy creates a ‘toxic environment’- on the contrary, it creates a company culture that is very much based on merit and performance. While it is obviously hard to please everyone, our rate of retention shows that we have many long-time and very loyal employees who are happy to come to work here everyday. For those of you reading this, I would encourage you to read ALL the reviews so that you can get a more balanced view of how our employees feel. I’m sorry that things didn’t work out for you here. Our hiring process is so selective, so I’m sure that you offer lot of great skills and will do well in other positions in the future. You wouldn’t have even made it through our door otherwise. Training was heavily lecture-based, very little hands-on practice, information overload, high-stakes exam, no retest opportunity, termination for scoring below 80%, limited engagement, stressful onboarding process.
