Not a true product role: The PM title is misleading. Most of the work revolves around project tracking, status reporting, and appeasing layers of management (P10s, P11s) rather than building product strategy or user-facing innovation. Excessive micromanagement: Be prepared to write endless updates and "human reporting" memos to satisfy upper management who often add little value but expect constant updates. Brutal hours: Mandatory on-site from 10am to 6pm in a mostly empty office, followed by nightly virtual meetings with Beijing and Shenzhen teams that can stretch past midnight. Always-on culture: Expect to wake up to over 100 messages and 10+ Dings every day. Burnout is normalized and boundaries are nonexistent. Little work-life balance: If you're looking for WLB, this is not the place. The culture rewards overwork and "visibility" over actual impact.
