Before I was hired, someone warned me that Altar'd State didn't practice what they preached, but I took the position anyway since the pay and opportunities seemed worth it at the time. Years later, I regret giving my energy to a company which profits off of their "stand out for good" perception, while abusing employees behind the scenes. You can argue that a company has to make tough decisions to stay competitive in this market, and you’d be absolutely right. However, the CEO insisting all employees pause for 2-3 hours every day to listen to his rantings, and then screaming at people for no reason – those aren’t tough business decisions, it’s just nonsense. The worst outcome of the abuses of this company is that while they happily profit off of their perception as a “Christian company”, they make all employees sign NDAs, so they aren’t held accountable to those values in their actual business practices. Job seekers, your mental and physical health are worth more than having this brand on your resume. HR folks, instead of offering a number to call in a reply to this post, look at the current complaints you have, and take them seriously. I sincerely wish mine had been.
