Once you become non billable, the clock starts ticking. You would have joined Altimetrik only for the pay package and therefore the onus is on you.Your risk of being laid off is very high if you are either hired on a niche skill or on high package or on a Tech Stack that Management is not keen on investing (eg. like SAP). In late 2017, Management did a major layoff removing a significant SAP Resource pool without giving any proper contingency plan. This was because Management did not due a right due diligence when they acquired another SAP Body Shopping Company. Management does not have a plan to re-invest in you once your current assignment is over. There is no concept of Bench here. HR never exists and possibly you will be your HR or Reporting Manager once in year during appraisals. Do not get fooled by Managers having designations as Engineering Managers. They are just "Resource Managers" who possibly are augmenting for a specific Technology stack. HR is virtually non existent. Is my review specific to Altimetrik? No. Almost most Indian IT Service Companies are following this model including the one I am currently working in.
