-hard work (significant outperformance) doesn't always get financial recognition -salary and benefits for non-management positions can be very below market, specially when employee is unfamiliar with market -culture has become toxic with results and financial bottom line prioritized over people -very hierarchical, things flow through management lines so less info/engagement/opportunity comes if you have a bad line manager
