VERY risk averse and we are technologically and practice wise at least 10 years behind our competitors. 3. Moving up is about who you know and if a senior leader has a bad experience with you, your career is pretty much over. 4. Point#3 allows a lot of people who are non collaborative, skill deficient but effective communicators and networkers to move up as promotional hiring is based on recommendation. 5. Cost cutting every year but senior leaders from VP level travel a lot and LUXURIOUSLY, they get high bonuses and stocks. If you want to save money, reduce your expenses, do not cut the working force.
