Vantaggi
Car Allowance was $500 a month tax free. If young, eager, willing to relocate...try it. If you get into marketing department, just work to get promoted, volunteer for weekend events, help where ever.. higher marketing positions can be easier on your schedule.
Svantaggi
Negative environment. Sales rep was overheard saying that he will take his Paternal leave of 6 weeks because he will take as much time as he can. This led to him stressed about his job and senior manager announcing that he only took two days off when his daughters were born. Marketing girl randomly drug tested 3 times in several months. We all questioned how random it was. They had to cut a chunk of her hair each time, she passed each time. She was the one complaining that marketing should not cover for sales reps when sick/vacation. Marketing has different pay goals and hours. Several on her team had other jobs/interviews lined up since they were working 5am to 10pm sometimes. 5:30am to 3:30pm Supermarket Sales and then later at the bars for promos. Their credit cards later got taken away since the branch was losing money (AB-INbev branch btw not independent). So now they just gave away keychains etc...Back to sales.. Schedule too packed to treat all Liquor accounts properly. Decisions passed/ruled down from corporate many times not appropriate to the needs or wants of your clients. Beer has an expiry date. Order too much you are in trouble and order too little you are in trouble. Expect to shift beer around (you are expected to). Management attitude that you alone can convince everyone in a store to buy your product by taking over a store's displays and sign space (neons etc.). I have never noticed neons or signs when shopping so I had trouble relating to this concept. I pick a beverage because it tastes good or I am interested in trying something new... Which leads to mgmt & corporate still acting like people are loyal to one beer. That was the past and business was amazing (I am told). Today people like me are excited to see a new brewery make a small batch. In-Bev is going to be behind on this unless all the big-players formed a cartel (illegal) to not allow independent brew inside stores. So they should treat employees like the startups do. Versus squeezing them more and more. During my time there I witnessed an exodus of good employees going elsewhere (other beer/alcohol companies).
