Upper management in IT is clueless. I have to constantly educate VP-level, but the information never makes it to the top, only to get lost and not addressed. At this point, C-level are only out for their bonuses and have been whacking away at IC's in order to make budget which results in very top-heavy orgs with no foundation to support the business. No upward mobility and no "job of choice" as touted.
