Vantaggi

Wonderful staff and managers, great people to work for who mean well. They are interested in building people up and furthering their careers! If that’s grad school they will help you get there! You want to be a tech forever? That’s cool too! A lot of folks in mid management do not have their masters but actually have the field experience some companies middle management lacks. It’s a fine balance, but everyone is respected despite their degree status. All the projects they get are top tier infrastructure projects, maybe some of the largest in the country. AE are heavy hitters and they don’t mess around! Be prepared to work your butt off, lots of rules, but it’s great for folks who thrive under structure. I am not a rule follower but am surprised how patient they have been with me. They really picked me out of the gutter of my career and gave me the enthusiasm back I had lost somewhere along the way. Lots of women in leadership roles which is about damn time. Thanks AE you rock.

Svantaggi

Outdated 90’s management style which is counterproductive. May need an update.

Vantaggi

This company does have high standards of work and has some excellent people in the field and low-level management. You can learn about how to do excellent CRM fieldwork in at this company from some, but not all project managers and field personnel. Compensation is slightly better than average in this industry but forget about raises other than cost of living.

Svantaggi

The upper management has extremely poor communication skills and routinely doesn't listen unless you are a favorite employee or have been there 5+ years. They also don't realize that they have created a vitriolic company culture in which mid-level project managers have to "throw people under the bus" when there is a problem. Promotions seem to be based on favoritism not skill. Training is negligible. They expect people to come to the job with all the skills and then fire you if you don't perform to expectations. If it suits them for expedient reasons, upper management will fire you with short notice (<1 week), even if you are salaried. Word of advice- communicate only via email if possible. If not, follow up every telephone and face-to-face conversation with an email reviewing the conversation so everyone is on the same page.

Your feedback and advice have been heard. Our excellent work product is our reputation, but so is the employee experience. So much has improved since 2014. A significant portion of our staff has been with us for 10 years or longer, and they often enjoy mentoring new hires. Training is an important part of our employee commitment. To maintain transparency, we post all job openings on our intranet Employee Portal as well as our website and industry sites.
