Little oversight over management, resulting in pretty negative sub-cultures and silos in the company. Tenured management can be entrenched in their ways, and obstruct innovation. Managers can make or break your experience at ASCE -- make sure you can work productively with yours. Operations are dictated by the egos of "VIP members," who will often bog down operations with unreasonable requests that do not contribute to the Society or profession, but are accommodated by ASCE nonetheless.
