Vantaggi
A place where teaching science can be a fun and rewarding experience. There is a HUGE variety of experiments, activities and classes that provide constant engagement for the children, including bottle rocketry, Van Der Graft generators, Meade Telescopes and even a space ship simulator! Other activities include hiking, various rope courses, and a swimming pool for microgravity. The camp also provides First Aid and Life Guard training during the spring time. The staff members are very friendly and supportive, and the children are generally well-behaved. Room and board are provided, and the camp provides VERY GOOD meals for its staff (including vegan and gluten free foods.)
Svantaggi
Working at the camp can be exhausting and chaotic at times. The salary is low, even with the compensation provided. The work is generally seasonal and temporary. Also while teaching science at the camp is fun, the children don't stay long enough to build meaningful rapport.
