Don't believe the brochure. It was once true, but it's well out of date. - Recensione dipendente - Senior Developer presso Atlassian

Vantaggi

- Some very smart and interesting people (but they're getting blander). - Some (increasingly limited) space to test your own ideas with 20% time (your percentage may vary) and ShipIt Days. - It's rare that you're asked to put in extra hours due to someone else's failure. - They have some genuinely cool staff functions every year: Melbourne Cup & EoFY.

Svantaggi

- Since the company took outside investment, it became a much less pleasant place to work. - Products and technology aren't that interesting. - They usually fail to recognise or reward people for achievements. - No interest in career development, or appropriately matching roles to your skills, experience and interests. - It has made a big deal about its edgy corporate values, which were very true at the time they were formulated, but they don't seem to mean much to new senior management. - Definitely not an inclusive employer. Has been called out as being hostile to women on a number of occasions. - The HR ("Talent") department is almost entirely concerned with recruitment and self-promotion and is incredibly under-resourced to do anything else, even by their own admission. The company is suffering in a number of respects as a result. - An ineffectual and often damaging performance management process. - Some other very dubious HR practices. - Basic office facilities suck. Most employees just get a desk and a chair, no drawers or anything else.

Vantaggi

Amazing people, I loved the core values, competitive salary, great benefits

Svantaggi

I want to start by saying I am not bitter or angry. Working for Atlassian was a whirlwind. I was there for 11 months before being laid off via email. In my time there, I went through 2 re-orgs and 3 managers. It just always felt like being on a hamster wheel… in a hurricane. Today I received an email 7 weeks after I was laid off that started with, “ Congrats on your first year at Atlassian—we know that's a huge accomplishment and are beyond thrilled to be celebrating with you!” It was a bummer to receive that, to say the least, but it included a link to leave this Glassdoor review to “ help provide invaluable insight to future candidates and help us to improve your experience as an employee continually.” so here I am. My advice is to do proper change management of your automated emails when you layoff 5% of your workforce so that emails like this aren’t sent to hard working former employees that you eliminated congratulating them on a milestone they never reached. I know this wasn’t intentional, but it hurt.
