Most managers and team leaders have little to no experience in actually dealing with people. Issues with employee performance and wellbeing are completely ignored. Senior management only have interest in expanding the business rather than keeping good on existing contracts and managing staff engagement and retention Staff are expected to work with antiquated systems with no prospect of upgrade. This is extremely disappointing considering Auscript are a technology company. Teams are always stretched too thin and unable to meet demand. Management would rather this be the case than to pay extra people during downtime (which is about two weeks out of the year) People who are good at their jobs are "rewarded" by being pushed into undesirable tasks and picking up the slack for others because no one else is capable. Mediocre employees receive opportunity and recognition. The only opportunity for advancement is into management. If this isn't for you, you'll be a bottom feeder forever. Company has ISO certification (somehow) despite many policies and procedures being grossly inadequate. Workplace health and safety is a major concern with production staff working physically demanding jobs (typing audio all day) with tight deadlines and no preventative strategies in place for injuries that will inevitably occur.
