Culture. People genuinely are warm, helpful and try to do the right thing. Management in areas I experienced were not micro-managers. Has superb reputation within IA industry amongst agents which helps in a lot of situations. Xmas bonus is basically 100% guaranteed, and profit sharing each year based on company performance. Defined-benefit pension after 5 years. Small company feel despite thousands of employees. Has never laid off a single employee in over 100 years - stability is basically unmatched. Unique benefit dollars approach to health care - you get $$ allocated each year towards benefit purchases; most times this will completely cover all health care, disability, and life insurance costs for a single person or significantly dent out-of-pocket for families.

Has not kept pace at all with market rate salaries and is bleeding talent as a result. Your "total compensation" - even including a max 15% profit share which is obviously not guaranteed - still falls short a lot of times to other carrier base salaries. No 100% WFH options at the time of this review. Post-COVID is transitioning to hybrid WFH model only, which is a major step forward but still does not match other competitors. A lot of manual processes and some older technology/systems in some areas. Is improving, and in the updated areas performs quite well overall at least but still has more work to complete.
