Vantaggi
-Work from home is a benefit, but the benefits are short lived when you are forced to jump on calls at all hours of the night, on weekends, on holidays, all because the leadership team has no business running a sales team. There is zero trust to reps, who are questioned on whereabouts, activity, etc. -There are some good reps that have remained, so you'll get the chance to work with a few good people
Svantaggi
I'm not sure if there's enough room on this form to fill in all the negatives. -OTE is a lie to entice you to come work here; 3 reps out of ~70 hit their targets in 2019, with a strong majority making 60% of their total OTE -Sales leadership is comprised of software developers chosen to become sales leaders at random, with zero sales, leadership, and sales leadership experience outside of their current roles. The only advice you'll get will start with "I..." and end with some unrelated story about a deal they closed in 2014. -Sales leadership manages by fear and intimidation, as noted by forcing calls on weekends, late at night, and making not-so-thinly-veiled threats if you can't make the call; Reps in 2019 were forced to cancel family vacations or trips and events on Saturdays to join massive 5-hour long pipeline calls, as one example -The position you were hired for means absolutely nothing, just another way to get you in the door. Experienced reps with deep resumes hired for leadership positions, or Strategic Account roles were moved to hunter roles, and asked to cold call prospect with no warning. Additionally, no prospecting or sales tools were actually given to anyone on the team to prospect and hunt correctly. -If you are not part of the original core group (5 or 6 folks), you are almost not part of the company or the team, and you do not matter -Commissions are tracked and "paid out" based off a complex spreadsheet maintained in finance, and is often very wrong. Several reps are still waiting on commissions for deals that closed in Q2 of 2019. Yes, that is correct, an automation company still uses a spreadsheet to track commissions for all of its reps -Promotions are based on ties to the founders and nepotism, not based on merit, skill, experience. If you're not part of the family you will be passed over and ignored -The end of every month, quarter, and fiscal year is BRUTAL, and is managed like the nuclear meltdown at Chernobyl. Be prepared to be blasted with calls, texts, messages, and emails nonstop for several days and nights. Be prepared for leadership to force you to discount costs to bring a deal in a few days, or a week, with zero concern for your loss of personal revenue. Be prepared for consistent criticism and fire drills as you try to run your business and territory -Outside sales leaders are brought in to help right the ship, are given 3 months to do so, and then are shut down and forced out. If you don't fit the mold of Rule By Oppression, then you're not the type of candidate they want -Middle-level sales managers offer zero input on deals, provide no insights or assistance, and are solely there to roll up numbers and data to the executive team. Everything is a fire drill and needs to be changed and updated daily, with zero consistency, often using spreadsheets being emailed around between teams. This is not a fault of the middle managers, but a is forced based on ever-changing directives from the executive team -You will wonder if this is a real company, or if you are being fooled, and won't receive a paycheck (which, ironically, you may not when it comes to deals you've closed) -"Unlimited PTO" is a lie. You will be constantly questioned and harassed about taking time off. You will feel bad about spending any time with your family and loved ones -HR is aware of virtually all of this and is clearly and actively choosing to do nothing about it -The most blindly arrogant and condescending executive team, especially on the sales side, that you could ever work for. They all believe that the average employee is stupid, and doesn't know how they are being lied to -If you are seriously considering a position here, I advise you to do whatever you can to speak to a rep that's been here for a while, off the record
