The other officers on the floor are generally amazing. There's a strong sense of teamwork, and nearly everyone works together to get through tough situations. Peers and coworkers provide a lot of support, and some of the supervisors are fantastic.

The shiftwork is difficult to adjust to, and many staff work on fewer than 5 hours of sleep regularly. Staff turnover is very high- more people leave each month than are hired, putting pressure on the remaining officers. Officers provide more support for each other than any of the management do, and higher management seem not to care about the comfort or the condition that their staff are working in. Upward movement is difficult to attain, as is branching out in terms of what duties you're permitted to do- it can take upwards of 5 years to get to non-screening point duties, leading to social and mental burnout from 8 hours of intensive customer service and potentially abuse from passengers every day.
