Vantaggi

Good benefits, (HMO,PPO, or HSA, 401K match, Education reimbursement, EAP, one big exception is not having a parental leave policy that keeps pace with the modern world,) Corporate giving program is good, employees get the option to donate, nominate and vote on recipients of grant money. Industry standard (or better) pay. Growing and ever changing landscape of new opportunities within the company, I've had some wonderful colleagues, peers, and supervision. I think the C-Suite is genuine and trying to do the right thing for the employees and the long term plan but it's a difficult balance. It's nice to feel your company has your back.

Svantaggi

Recent merger has led to silos in what used to be old HQs. It's government contracting, the old boys club is a factor. (In fairness I've only seen maybe one bad hire due to personal connections) Mileage may vary depending on your department and contract.

Vantaggi

Axient has a host of mostly government clients. I really liked my Axient co-workers, boss, and even upper supervision. HR was super helpful, finance and contracting were apparently very busy, but still found time to be helpful and replied to requests normally by COB. Pay was spot on. Their internal software takes a bit of getting used to for pay, travel and other expenses, but it makes nice reports and help is available.

Svantaggi

Axient has contract employees with the US Army SMDC/HQ at Huntsville. The dynamic is unusual as contract workers are treated as government employees - almost. And the line moves. Job drift was extreme. I was hired as a environmental specialist. That was not what I did, nor any of my co-workers, though that is what we were all (recently) hired to do. To be fair, the Army seems to be confused as to what to do with their environmental staff, with very confused lines of authority within and between commands. It is a disaster in the making. Axient support was always good, but the client had so many internal issues! As with any organization, keep your eyes open!
