The compensation is great and they really do attract the best talent. They have exceptionally high standards when it comes to hiring. You have the opportunity to work with incredibly sharp people and cutting edge tech. At the end of the day, despite the company's flaws, they do have a great mission - to protect life.

While work/life balance is touted as being important, no one is going to twist your arm to take time off. If you ever wonder if your're doing enough at Axon, the answer is no. They will always want more, even if it's to the detriment of your health - both physical and mental. It is not uncommon to put in several 10, 12 or even 14 hour days in a row. As far as career growth, it depends on if you're in the clique. I personally saw employees who consistently did the bare minimum get promoted, and others who were consistently on top of their game and pumping out quality work get passed over for years. Axon really is a who you know type of place. Company culture is very toxic if you don't subscribe to a certain ideology. It is not uncommon to find out that your social media has been stalked looking for anything that doesn't subscribe to certain extreme political views. During COVID, the company forced all employees - even those who are 100% remote and never physically interface with other employees or customers - to receive mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations or face termination. There were many employees who left voluntarily because of this. Eventually after about a year the mandate was lifted, but working for a year with that threat hanging over your head is abhorrent. Quite a bit of management came from Amazon, and brought that mill mentality with them. You have to be careful not to go against some in management or you will be marked to be "managed out". When I say "go against", it can simply be as much as pointing out negative consequences to products and services if a certain demand is met. Some of the egos in management get bruised easily as they see that as an affront to their authority. There are some managers that are truly standouts for their professionalism, while others micromanage and provide no support to grow or succeed. Sadly, the latter are who seem to stay with Axon for the long haul.

Good pay and benefits Flexible PTO RSU's

Company morale is low. The other recent reviews stating this are extremely accurate. Company culture has eroded and the company values don't seem to matter anymore. 'Winning Right' has become lip service. Senior leadership refuses to address the problems many departments are having with headcount and workload. They don't really care about the customer experience. RTO makes no sense when most of your team remains remote in the same role, a role in which you spend much of the time on calls with customers and meeting with other team members virtually. Not enough staff to support the RMS customer base and ticket counts have ballooned.
