- No remote work. Like other people have said, as an online only bank, why do employees have to report in office? Most team meetings are over Microsoft Teams anyways so there's no point in paying for office space. - Terrible COVID response. Had many positive cases but still had to report in-office. No supplemental pay if you have COVID - you have to use PTO or sick time, which is awful considering we have no option to work remote. - Spyware installed on computers to track key logs as a measure of productivity. What about meetings or reading over docs? Productivity should be tracked by performance and how quickly things are getting done, not by key logs... CEO was open about this too, so you can find the article online. - Favoritism by management - Awful compensation that's way below the industry average. 401(k) is matched in stock and doesn't fully vest for 6 years. Bonuses are half cash and half stock, which also doesn't fully vest for 3 years. - Meritocracy culture isn't really a meritocracy because length at the company takes priority over high performance.

We realize that our culture isn't for everyone, and we're comfortable with that. A word about our compensation packages: they're a key part of how we cultivate our meritocratic culture. By not setting an upper limit on bonuses, we can reward performance that goes above and beyond. To put it another way: our team members get out what they put in. As you've probably seen elsewhere on this forum, we strongly believe our best work happens when employees are together. The office environment provides opportunities for collaboration and spontaneous interaction that simply can't happen virtually.

Only pro here is that certain roles will let you operate above your title, e.g. exposure to sides of the job reserved for senior roles at other firms. 15 days PTO to start is actually not terrible either. Great coworkers depending on your team.

Too many to list here, but will try. Main issue here is the top-down culture of fear and internal politics, as the entire bank is at the whim of one person. Managers are exclusively concerned with looking good in front of the CEO, and even top SVPs are terrified to be honest with him. SVPs routinely complain about not being able to get comp raises for employees, while simultaneously being terrified to ask. Do not expect your manager to go to bat for you if it in any way involves being assertive. If you want to work for a borderline alt-right CEO who belittles employees openly, this is your spot. The only people that thrive here are those who have never worked elsewhere and do not know what a real company looks like. Looking forward to the HR denial response here too. Some other cons: - Zero WFH allowed - Below market compensation across all roles - Stock bonus vesting schedule that take 4 years to fully vest
