People were once well compensated, above industry, from my limited perspective - both in terms of salary/bonus and ancillary benefits. The offices, NY/LA/Provo, were decked out, although the vibe got weird once layoffs happened and they were mostly empty. There was a genuine push to make BENlabs a great place to work outside of daily responsibilities - activities, groups, food, etc.

I don't expect my review to influencer new job seekers or current management, so this is mostly a therapeutic exercise for myself. BENlabs certainly won't be hiring and might not be in business much longer.
BENlabs peaked about 3 years ago. Budget and ideas flowed freely and there was collective sense of excitement. Big parties, big ideas, big challenges - the future seemed bright. That, of course, came crashing down with botched acquisition, investor withdrawal, CEO exit, and mass layoffs.
There was a opportunity, and even some excitement, to right the ship with new leadership, but the debt of poor decisions haunted the company. The contrast between the glory years and the current state is stark and palpable.
Now there is no stability, layoffs continue, and it's likely that remaining employees will be just riding out the slop until the inevitable end.
