I have been happily working for BGC for the past few years now and can’t think of anywhere else I would rather be. The compensation is quite good for my job class and experience level. I am sure there are some companies that pay better, but the vast majority pay much much less. The technical experience and mentorship at BGC is unparalleled. BGC does not seem to take run of the mill work and chooses to specialize in technically challenging projects. I am fairly early in my career and may be naive in saying this, but I doubt engineers/geoscientists will get the same opportunities with other consulting firms. I truly do enjoy the team(s) I work with. The people I have worked so far are generally extremely bright and motivated people, and some are world-class or renowned.

I don’t have any serious cons, but if I had to chose one if would be the decrease in flexibility during the field season. Field work is imperative to our work and is mostly going to be handled by junior/intermediate level staff.
