The company is growingly rapidly and the size of the company allows you to know the employees on a more intimate level while being exposed to a wide variety of projects. Opportunities for growth may require some lateral movement to other areas, but they are there for those who look.

The times are changing and there is an imminent culture shift beginning to take place. Badger Meter is a small/mid-sized company that is trying desperately to be a large company--less the resources. There is a strong sense of entitlement within some groups, and the organization is bleeding millennial workers at a rapid pace. Managers tend to make decisions that will make them more likeable amongst their peers while refusing to hear feedback from the individual contributor doing the work, regardless of the inefficiencies they cause. In a few years I imagine the organization will be a bunch of director-level employees high-fiving themselves regarding how awesome their titles are while failing to deliver any real, measurable results.
