The BCoFD has excellent benefits and great working hours. The job is exciting, you will learn a lot about different facets of working in the fire service profession (i.e. vehicle rescue, emergency medical treatment, rope rescue, and of course fire suppression to name a few)

Even though there are numerous days off, you will have to work weekends and holidays. This means missing kids sports games and missing holiday get togethers.
