In my previous company - I was not given a chance to know what was happening in design, architecture or even business needs - my recent appraisal reflected my contributions (hike i didnot expect) - reviews are done by the peers, not by the managers and management. management respects the peer reviews

not a negative. if you are not skilled you are asked to leave. i understand that because if I am doing a great job and another person is lazy, I feel disrespected or even demotivated. eg. for the same salary, I am doing the work and the other person is cheating. It is not fair. not negtve comment but you understand. I also see the management being given negative reviews , it is not accurate. may be they protect the good employees inside the company.
