Svantaggi
These are honest views and what me and my friend fellow officers felt. Several cons of the work life & culture in Bank mandiri are : - "Yes sir" attitude Most of the employees here have this kind of attitude, and seems like its really negative thing to say "NO" to your boss. The bosses are also have this attitude towards the upper management and directors and have no consideration regarding to the impact of their attitude (more heavy workload because bosses accept all request coming from directors and other unit in order to keep their name clean and positive). - Work Life Balance is a myth. Glorifies overtime to meet irrational target. Most of the time, You will work overtime and all management here sees this as culture. After COVID, I had numbers of meetings during weekend (day and night), and plenty of time, meetings can take up your night time (over 9 PM), meanwhile we were not paid enough for overtime (only 25k per day for overtime). This happens even when we have meetings with our direct managers/verticals. - Toxic Culture Management often use positive toxicity to answer all of our opinions, rants, and suggestions. Blaming culture is everywhere. - Sometimes leaders here are incompetent (only for some unit) Leaders here only know the surface of the issue, and hardly try to understand the issues down to technical level. Most of the time, they just want all issues done without knowing how hard their team try to solve it. - Silos, politics and bureaucracy Cant be the bank's fault because bank is highly regulated unit so all activities needs to be documented and well organized. However, it's hard to collaborate with other units since each of the working units here have each of their targets, agendas, and try hard to win their director's heart so they have better appraisal than any other working unit in the same directorate (silos). - Too old to understand concept amongst managements It's hard to elaborate a technical/statistical concepts to management since they hardly try to understand it because they say they are old and could not catch up to understand the terms/concepts. - Underpaid If you onboard as ODP graduates, expect to get underpaid after 2-3 years of working since the salary incremental here is pretty low (up to 10% if your performance is superior), far lower than much industry even other bank. Your salary can be extremely lower than pro-hires that just joined to your working units that has the same years of experience and grade-status like you.
