Command and control hierarchy. Work is dictated to you from upstream and you dare not question the purpose or press a different perspective. Leaders with little to no experience in or awareness of contemporary product management practices. The three Ps at Best Buy are (superficial) Purpose, (inexperienced) People, and (immature or nonexistent) Processes. Lots and lots of platitudes, all talk and no action. Aspirational culture and values but completely non-existent and unachievable. People are more interested in selling ideas through manipulation or shutting others down rather than being curious, researching, understanding. People are promoted or put on committees (making them "experts") with little to no experience with the subject or industry in question. Look up the concept of "UX Theatre." That's what it's like working at Best Buy. Look up "signs you're not doing product management." That's what it's like working at Best Buy.

No Need to sell or deal with customers (Much) Constantly moving so you always have a task to do Management leaves you to your own devices Almost all warehouse employees have a set of headphone

Everyone (Cust & employees) Expect an encyclopedic knowledge on where every single item is. Management seems to think we can lift a 85" tv, pull a washer off the top shelf, stock gaming shelves, and handle store pick up at the same moment. Customers think we don't want to help them when we call someone else to help with sales There's almost too much to do and even though we may have 1-3 employees working at a time, 1 is at the door, 1 is behind store pick up, which leaves 1 employee to handle new orders, deliveries, and down stocking.
