Vantaggi
Hybrid work options: If you live in/around Erie, you're largely able to work from home or the office at your discretion. Remote employment is a relatively new option, but it's easy to keep in touch & keep engaged with team-mates, no matter where they are Leaders are responsive to professional growth requests. Conferences, online training, and certifications are encouraged, and some are eligible for reimbursement. (free education is a huge plus in my book). Promotions/advancement opportunities are there if you've got the motivation, and market salary adjustments in the last few years have been on par with national averages. Benefits are great, paid time off is ample & usually very flexible. Usually, managers & leadership are happy to listen/try out new ideas, and common sense improvements don't meet much resistance. BIL is run by actual humans, not a faceless board of directors. CEO, HR Director, Vice Presidents are approachable, friendly, and willing to listen to concerns/suggestions. Owners are active employees, down-to-earth, and regularly engage with teams across the company. You can just be yourself. No toxic management, and it really feels like you're valued as a person, not just for your job function.
Svantaggi
Staff size tends to run on the smaller side compared to market needs, and a lot of us wear a couple of hats. Maybe not a great place for someone who likes to say "that's not my job". Business pace isn't even throughout the year for a lot of departments: some months are extremely busy, and back-to-school season (August - October) can be fairly stressful for some teams.
